Losing Weight

I have decided, as of this morning, that my blog will be put to use for weight loss. I have been dieting now for 2 weeks. I have done great for the most part, but there have been a few things to slip through the cracks. As far as I know, I haven't lost any weight. There can't be too much expectation this soon in the game.

Recently, I have cut out pizza from my diet. I am not eating as many tacos as in the past. For breakfast I either eat pigs in a blanket or any flavor of Special K cereal. I stopped drinking sodas and for lunch I eat a salad. Dinners vary so much and that is where my diet can go off track. I've always heard that cutting things completely out of your diet is bad when trying to lose weight - it's better to watch your portions.

Where I have messed up was this week recently. Thursday night I made these awesome hamburgers for dinner. I ate late and had two when I should have only had one. I had chocolate that day as well. I had 3 glasses of sweet tea instead of just stopping at the second. My snacks went from being bananas and grapes to a half bag of pretzels (which in the grand scheme of things isn't so bad considering it could have been chips).

My plans, starting in February when I get more money, is to start the Special K diet. I want to test their diet. The first two weeks, I will follow their diet to a "T". According to Kellog's, you can lose up to 6 pounds in two weeks. I'm not expecting 6 pounds, but any weight loss from that will be appreciated. Whether or not I see goals from that, I am going to start going on walks every night again and spend a little more time playing on the trampoline (great for legs and abdominal muscles!). If by the end of February I haven't lost any weight, then I will consult my doctor and get me in with a nutritionist. I want to find out why I'm obese and not losing. So far, my thyroid is coming back normal.

I'm not sure how much I weigh after these last two weeks. My pants say I'm the same size - too fat to fit in them still. I was weighed in December at my doctor's office (prior to gall bladder removal) at 273 pounds. Ouch!

I want to keep this blog to help other women trying to lose weight. I want to support them as well as having their support. I tried taking other's ideas and advice on weight loss, and nothing seems to work. Either I give up too soon on dieting or I never start working on it. I'm so sick of being over weight. I didn't notice a problem with my weight when I was only 230 pounds, but after seeing that scale saying I'm almost 300 is when I got scared. My goal is to get to 240, then 200, then 180. Once I get to 180, we'll see where I go from there!
